hi all. My favourite author is terry pratchett. I love the Disc World series and also enjoy his kids stories.
have any of you read Thud yet?
My favourite has got to be Monsterous Regiment. and my favourite Pratchett charictor is Granny weatherwax. but, Nanny Ogg comes close.
I also liked good omens wich he co-authored with Niell gaimon.
I would love to know what you all think.

The Discworld is a wonderful place to which I escape! The only non-Discworld Pratchett I've read is "Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnus Nutter, Witch".

I've been an avid Pratchett fan for 8 years now, even if I have not read all of his books yet. :)
So far my favorites would be "the Hogfather" which I've read probably 40 times and still find funny, especially the God of Hangovers, "Small Gods", not as funny but raises some very interesting moral and religious questions, "the Last Continent" .. the pasage where the wizards are stuck on a prehistoric beach and are arguing about what to do is hillarious, the burser would have to be one of the best characters ever invented, and the librarian of course, Rinchwind is also brilliant, a sad, sarcastic cowardly man who avoids adventures and, because of that, is forced into one adventure after another and Carpe Jukulem, which makes endless fun of vampires or vampyres as they call themselves, Granny Weatherwax is absolutely brilliant and the whole wich trio (Agnes though doesn't quite live up to her potential until Carpe Jukulem). "Going Postal" is actually one of his very best books even if very few of his usual characters are in it, the story line is amazingly well written and I have to say it's his best written story, not his funniest, but the way it's written it makes you admire the man's genius, especially since he admits to hardly ever writing without alcohol <grin> which would explain a lot.
cheers
